MT/MLT
The Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Technician is responsible for the performance of all lab tests done in all departments, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment, record keeping; thorough knowledge of the laboratory computer system and following all of the safety rules as outlined by OSHA, ASCP, CLIA and other regulatory agencies. The Medical Technologist through education, training and experience must be able to work with the geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric and neonate customers. Models appropriate behavior that exemplified the mission of Claiborne County Medical Center.
MT Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification as a Medical Technologist. ASCP registered or eligible.
B. Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry or Biology.
C. Experience: Minimum 1 year hospital laboratory experience strongly desired. The ability to properly operate the following laboratory instruments: photometer, spectrograph, colorimeter, and microscope.
MLT Position Requirements:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician by the ASCP registered or eligible.
B. Education: Associate of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Chemistry or Biology.
